Introducing Moet, the lovely Persian cat who has captured the hearts of many on the internet and social media. This precious feline was rescued from an animal shelter in Oman by Emily Shotter in 2014, and since then, she has become a social media sensation. Moet lost her sight due to neglect at a ‘pet shop’ where she was left in a filthy cage with no food, water, bed or toys, which led to her getting sick and ultimately losing her vision. However, thanks to Emily’s love and care, Moet now lives a happy life. Although she is generally sweet-natured, Moet is a bit of a diva and demands attention constantly. After being rescued and undergoing surgery to remove her eyes, a Persian cat named Moet was taken in by Emily. Now, Moet is known as one of the most beautiful cats around with her stunning white coat and luxurious lifestyle. Emily manages Moet’s online store and donates all profits to Omani Paws, a volunteer group that helps stray cats and dogs in Oman. While Emily plans to return to Nottingham at some point, she currently lives in Oman where Moet loves to demand attention, especially when Emily is on the phone or in virtual meetings. Despite the interruptions, Emily can’t help but find Moet’s squeak-meows amusing.

I think my cat Moet gets bored easily because she can’t see, so I make sure to give her plenty of playtime. She’s a big fan of Thrive freeze-dried treats and Nutripockets as well. I’ve enclosed my garden fully to ensure her safety, and she loves going outside. Moet is a Persian rescue whom I started posting photos of in 2018. Since then, she’s gained a massive following, with over 52k fans on Instagram, almost 10k followers on Facebook, and more than 36.9k supporters on Twitter. But Moet isn’t just a pretty face; she has also starred in many adorable videos online. You can check out her video library on YouTube and TikTok.

Moet was once living with her two other feline sisters, but unfortunately, Lily passed away in February 2020 and went to the cat heaven. Now, Moet is only left with her sister Luna, who was Emily’s first rescue cat in Oman and adopted from the same vets as Moet. Moet is a lively cat who loves to play a lot and sometimes has to encourage Luna to join in on the fun.
Emily shared with Bored Panda that both Luna and Moet were saved by Al Qurum Veterinary Clinic, which does an incredible job with strays and neglected or injured animals. Luna was abandoned, and Emily saw her on their Facebook page and felt compelled to adopt her. Meanwhile, Moet needed their help to restore her health and remove her poorly eyes to save her life. Emily also expressed her involvement in Omani Paws, a volunteer group that advocates for animal welfare legislation. Although animal welfare legislation in Oman only applies to farm animals and not pets, the group continues to lobby for change and receives donations to support their efforts. Lastly, Emily mentioned that Moet generously donated all the profits from her book and store sales to the group.
