In an unfortunate incident in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, a heroic Dalmatian lost its life while protecting its family from a deadly cobra. Ameen Sharif, the pet’s owner, was taken aback when he heard loud barking early in the morning and witnessed his dog Tyson engaged in a fierce battle with the poisonous snake. Despite their best efforts, they were unable to save their valiant and loyal one-and-a-half-year-old Dalmatian, who had already defeated the venomous cobra.
The family was in shock when they saw their dear pet, Tyson, suffering from an unidentified illness, as seen in a disturbing video. Ameen, who was concerned about Tyson’s well-being, closely checked him for any indications of snake bites and found blood on the left side of his face, causing him to be anxious about the circumstances.
A man called for help from the snake hotline when he discovered a slithery animal in his backyard. The man took a video of the reptile and forwarded it to Subhendu Mallik, who is an expert in identifying snakes. Mallik confirmed that it was an Indian cobra and advised the family to take their dog to the vet as soon as possible. Unfortunately, due to the late hour, there were no available veterinarians, and the family’s dog, Tyson, passed away within thirty minutes. It was a heartbreaking situation for the family.
According to Amin, who shared his story with Ommcom News, their pet dog Tyson recently fought a cobra just a few feet away from their porch. Despite their attempts to get an anti-venom dose from veterinary physicians, no one was available during the late hour. Sadly, Tyson lost his life after being bitten by the snake. While the family was able to escape unharmed, they were not able to save their faithful companion in time. Despite the tragic event, the family will always remember Tyson’s loyalty and courage. It’s disappointing that there are plenty of hospitals available for human emergencies that operate 24/7, but there are none for animals. Mr. Mallik also mentioned that Tyson saved them from a terrible situation. However, this situation highlights the shortage of veterinary care in Odisha, where even sick animals cannot receive timely treatment.
